Kathy Brodeur, the owner/founder of Climaxx Cycling, has been a part of the fitness industry for as long as she remembers, back when the world believed the "20 minute workout" was actually a workout and that white pasta was good for you!
She began working within the industry at the age of 15 as a receptionist at Grantham Fitness Center, which would eventually lead to her first fitness teaching job, instructing an aerobics class at the age of 17. What followed was an array of fitness accomplishments, from becoming a finalist in one of her very first fitness competitions, a cheerleader for the Hamilton Tiger Cats, to even 15 years of baton twirling!
Kathy devotes her time to endlessly educating herself within the ever-evolving fitness industry. Her career-long development has led to a variety of certifications, including: Canfitpro Certified Personal Trainer (PTS), ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer, Canfitpro Cerfitied Fitness Instructor, Certified Zumba Instructor, Schwinn and C.O.R.E. Certified Indoor Cycling Instructor.
Her newest endeavours involve the completion of The Master Of Fitness Design Program, operating out of New York City, which includes Class Principles Part I and II, Client Care, Muscle Mastery and Nutritional Design. Currently she studying to become a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. Remaining educated and open to new ideas in the industry is something she prides herself on.
With a variety of certifications under her belt, Kathy has spread her passion for fitness throughout many fitness facilities in the city. Working as a fitness instructor, a personal training specialist, an indoor cycling instructor, and a motivational coach, she has helped and supported many clients through their individual programs, keeping them motivated and focused on their personal fitness goals.
Married with two children, Kathy also brings her passion for good health, fitness and full potential into her home.
A source of inspiration and pride for Kathy are her children - her daughter, Nicole, a well decorated competitive dancer of 16 years, and her son, Luc, an elite rower who's crew was rated #1 North American in 2014, placed 3rd overall in the 2014 Royal English Henley, London, England and a member of the 2014 Junior National Rowing Team.
She instills in her family a positive mindset, and the belief that staying healthy and active gives a person the right mental and emotional attitude to live a happy and healthy life.
Kathy's passion for fitness is more evident, but her main passion lies in cycling, having worked as a certified indoor cycling instructor for the past 7 years. She loves the energy that is felt by every person in a cycling class, and that regardless of age, size and skill, there are no limitations on a participant's abilities.
Kathy is excited to bring her health and fitness knowledge, training and "addiction to cycling" to Climaxx Cycling & Fitness, and to spread her positive attitude to each of her clients, helping them to reach their goals - safely, effectively and fun!
