Beginner Tips For Indoor Cycling

Your first Indoor Cycling Class can be very intimidating. From the equipment set-up to the loud music and pace of the class, its enough to keep your head spinning! Never mind your legs. Here are a few tips to get you feeling prepared and ready for your first few Indoor Cycling classes at Climaxx Cycling & Fitness...

What To Wear

  • Wear a hard-soled indoor fitness shoe. The bike is equipped with a strap that accommodates a fitness/running shoe. You may purchase cycling shoes with SPD cleats to "clip in" to the bike pedals once you know that indoor cycling is for you.
  • Wear comfortable, fitted clothing made of moisture-wicking materials like DriFit and be prepared to sweat. Padded bike shorts are also an option for a more comfortable ride.
  • No need to bring your own towel. At Climaxx Cycling & Fitness, we provide you with towels during your ride and a cool aromatherapy towel after your ride.
  • Bring a water bottle. You can fill up with Ricochet brand reverse osmosis water provided at our studio.

When To Arrive

You can book your bike ahead of time with our online reservations system. Arrive at least 15 minutes early for your first class so we can get you set up on the bike for a comfortable and efficient ride. The Schwinn Carbon Blue bikes have number settings that you can record making your next bike set up quick and easy.

What To Expect

Our expert instructors will show you how to set up and use the bike properly and will guide you through the class suggesting the resistance and speed to work with. Every instructor is unique and uses their own combinations of intervals, zone training, sprints and climbs to motivating, upbeat music. We are here to provide you with a fun, effective Indoor Cycling experience in our state-of-the-art indoor cycling studio located in St. Catharines, the heart of the Niagara Region.
